Nature School for Homeschoolers Fall 2018
Thursdays 10:30-1:30pm
7 weeks Sept 7- Oct 19
Gardening: 10:30-11:30
Community Gardening Class: We will explore gardening and back yard farming. This semester we will learn about poultry care, planting, growing, harvesting garden veggies and seed saving. We will prepare snacks with garden fresh veggies, read stories, journal, and play.
Lunch: 11:30-12:30, We will eat together under the shaded covering. Bring a healthy sack lunch
Forest Explorers: 12:30-1:30
We will explore local ecology through place based education. We will be be going on short hikes each week at the local park. We explore different themes including, safety, different animals and insects, trees, edibles and poisonous plants, habitats, map reading, fire building and safety, earth care, identifying tracks and more. Each child will be putting together their own binder of everything we learn about so they can identify animals and plants after class is over.
This class is geared toward school age children but younger family members are welcome to attend. Parents are invited and welcome to attend with their child(ren). There are a few drop off spots available for those needing to drop their child off instead.
$125 per child (sibling discounts -$25 per sibling child) Fees includes all supplies. There is a limited amount of space in each class. Lil Sprouts Gardening Class:
Lil Sprouts Gardening Class Fall 2018
Fridays 9:00-10:00am
7 weeks Sept7-Oct 19
Lil sprouts Gardening : We will meet in the garden each week to play, read stories, learn about plants, bugs, water, seeds, compost, and more through fun hands on activities. The children will explore the different sensory areas of the garden. It will also be a great place for moms to connect.
This class is geared towards little ones not yet school age. Approximately Ages 3-5 $65 per Child. There is a -$5 discount per sibling. Fee includes all supplies. There is a limited amount of space in each class. If you have questions please send a message with your child’s age and the class you would like to sign up for. I am looking forward to leading this wonderful classes and all the fun, learning, and growing together.
